China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) is the first charity organization founded since the establishment of the Peoples Republic of China. Under the leadership of the All-China Women's Federation, CCTF's mission is to care for, foster and educate children and teenagers, and to assist in developing the education and welfare of children and teenagers, especially in the impoverished regions of China. CCTF is highly regarded by the leadership of Chinese government. CCTF established CCIF with the help of many philanthropic enterprises and individuals. The main Founders include Mingya Insurance Brokers' Co. Ltd., Air China Corp. Ltd., the Starr Foundation (Mr. Maurice R. Greenberg), and Dr. Lynn Lin, a world-renowned market research expert and the Chief Advisor of Beijing K&D Consulting Co., Ltd..
China Children Insurance Foundation (CCIF) was established to help children against critical illnesses. CCIF has built a charity platform through an innovative combination of insurance and traditional charity activities. Through this mechanism, CCIF acts before the disaster comes rather than responding passively afterwards. The cost needed to protect one child is much smaller. Many more children will be benefited by a given sum of donation, and lowered donation barrier will make more people willing to contribute, as it only takes US＄8 to help a needy child. Therefore, CCIF can provide timely financial support to help more children fight against critical illnesses.
Commissioned by CCTF and guided by Ministry of Civil Affairs, Ministry of Health and China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Mingya Insurance Brokers' Co. Ltd. developed an exclusive, low cost charity insurance product for CCTF, and selected insurance carriers for CCIF after a number of rounds of bidding, to provide critical illness insurance to orphans and impoverished children in China.
Every US＄8 donated will provide US＄15,000 of protection towards a needy child for one year against twelve types of critical illnesses, i.e., malignant tumors (including leukemia); organ and stem cell transplant; acute kidney failure; aplastic anemia; benign brain tumors; acute hepatitis; sequelae of cerebritis or meningitis; infantile paralysis; serious juvenile rheumatoid arthritis; serious Kawasaki disease; Myasthenia Gravis; and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
CCIF offers many donation channels such as founders' donation, corporate donation and individual donation. In addition, CCIF also partners with Give2Asia to help enabling overseas supporters to make tax-deductable donations. Donors in the U.S. and H.K. can support CCIF by making their donation through Give2Asia. These donors will obtain local tax-deductible privilege and professional donation management services from Give2Asia.
CCIF's office management is based on the principles of transparent operation mechanism and respect donors' wishes. The fund will be used for purchase and distribution of critical illness insurance to orphans and needy children.
